My Top 10 Stress Relievers

Life is stressful. It always seems to be that something is always going on to create more stress. With so much stress, we need many different strategies to combat these issues. Sometimes you don’t even realize how stressed out you are, until you start to try to relax. You may not even know where to start. Here are 10 ways to relax.

1. Sip your favorite beverage and listen to your favorite music or comedian.

They say music is good for the soul; so just grab your favorite relaxing drink (I would not suggest an espresso) and put on some music.

2. Play a game

In my house, we are board game fanatics. Playing board games brings me back to childhood memories. Make sure you chose the right games, Monopoly could cause more stress. Our favorites are Ticket to Ride first trip, Apples to Apples, and Sorry. I have even played battleship with my husband who lives in Mexico.

  3. Take a bath

Just thinking about a relaxing hot bath can help relieve a little stress. If you don’t have a lot of free time (which I normally don’t) I will sneak in a hot shower.

4. Go out for a walk.

Get outside and enjoy some nature. The fresh air and free time will give you a chance to unwind from all the stress from the day.

 5. Pray, soak in God’s love

God is a God of love and peace. So when we spend time with the creator of peace and love, that peace can fill you.

6. Lose yourself in a good book

Find a book that you are interested in, and sit down and read. Get lost in a different world.

7. Reconnect with friends and family

We are almost always connected now with all our technology, but when was the last time you slowed down and took time to reconnected. You could give them a call, send an email or even send a letter by mail!

8. Get creative

Just make something. I remember as a kid taking recycling materials and creating random things. Use your imagination. Paint, draw, color, scrapbook, make origami, the possibilities are endless.

9. Take a nap

A great way to recharge and relax. We make our kids take naps, but don’t make time for us to take one. It is important to have an alarm, because you don’t want to over sleep and wake up feeling tired.

10. Be Silly

This just depends on what you do for fun. I love to look through my clothes and try them on while having a dance party (when I am home alone).
